Job creation formal hits record in early 2008

The creation of jobs formal beat new historical record in the first four months of 2008, according to the General Register of Employees and Unemployed (Caged) of the Ministry of Labour, disclosed this Monday (19).

According to the record, were generated from the beginning of the year by 848,962 jobs in April with signed portfolio, equivalent to growth of 2.93% in the period. Regarding accumulated in the first quarter of 2007 (701,619 vacancies), growth is 21%.

In the last 12 months, the level of formal employment grew 6.29%, equivalent to the creation of 1,764,735 new jobs. The result is higher than the cumulative observed in 2007, which had registered the creation of 1,360,799 vacancies - growth of 5.04% compared to 2006.
