U.S. Senate approves loan of $ 25 billion for automakers

The U.S. Congress agreed on this Saturday (27) finance a package of loan of U.S. $ 25 billion dollars the automobile assembly plants, as part of an enormous new budget that will keep the government running until early March 2009.

General Motors, Ford and Chrysler, the so-called "Big Three of Detroit" are wrapped in an unprecedented restructuring, with the elimination of thousands of jobs and closing plants in an attempt to respond to the crisis ravaging the automakers.

The Chamber of Deputies approved the law earlier this week and now she will run for the White House for the signature of President George W. Bush.

Congress approved the law while the parliamentarians continue negotiations on the plan of $ 700 billion to Wall Street, defined by them as necessary to release the credit markets and avoid a sharp economic decline.
