TSE maintains Ivo Cassol in the government of Nunavut

The plenum of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) decided this Wednesday (19) to Ivo Cassol as governor of Virginia until the trial on the merits of an appeal that will still be sent to the Court. With this, is suspended the decision of the Regional Electoral Tribunal (TRE) Rondoniense, which in the last 4 days, Cassia Cassol and his vice, John Aparecido Cahulla, and marked new election for Dec. 14.

On the last day 5, a court's injunction had kept the governor in office.

The Electoral prosecutors accused Cassol, Senator Expedito Junior (PR) and two former candidates for Member of involvement in a scheme to buy votes in the elections of 2006. Two days after the order of the TRA, the minister answered Arnaldo Versiani request of the governor and no longer in office until the publication of the TRA's decision on the appeal lodged there.

After published, the politician requested the extension in the same action precaution not to be dismissed before the trial that followed the ordinary appeal of TRE for the TSE.

According to the TSE, the rapporteur of the case, Minister Arnaldo Versiani, voted to grant the request, considering that one of the arguments of the appeal is that the process should be annulled because the lieutenant governor was not cited for the trial. "In other words, this in itself may mean the cancellation of the entire process," he emphasized. The other ministers followed the vote of Versiani.
