Obama easier way to do business in the U.S. telecom Cuba

The White House announced this Monday (13) that will facilitate the path to the U.S. companies making telecommunications business in Cuba, allowing connections of fiber optic cables and satellite links between the U.S. and Cuba.

With this, the U.S. telecoms could establish agreements with Cuban companies to provide mobile telephony services to Cuban citizens.

Dan Restrepo, special advisor to Obama, said the measure should increase the flow of information to the communist island. "We are in favor of more rather than less information to reach the Cuban people," he said.

This was announced in an interview of spokesman Robert Gibbs. Also confirmed was the end of most restrictions on the remittance of money from Cuban-Americans to their families in Cuba and travel to their island. Moreover, the study is the possibility that U.S. and Cuba are united by commercial flights.
